Kruisfontein fullback Rochard Harris single handedly propelled his side to a 34-24 victory over EL Police RFC on Saturday.

The dimunitive 21-year-old perfomance earned him a man of the match in this third round fixture of the Eastern Cape super 12 Rugby competition.

He scored a brace of tries and had a hand in three of his teams six on the day.

Police enjoyed twice as much possession and territorial advantage as their hosts. It was not a surprise for all of us when they scored first inside five minutes for a 7-0 lead.

They continued this dominance throughout the first half. But Harris was catching them by surprise on counter as soon as the opportunity to do so become available.

He scored first of his two tries on the stroke of halftime to give the hosts and 12pt lead into the break as they led 24-12.

EL Police rallied back and put together some solid attacks led by their solid pack of forwards who dominated all fasets of tight play throughout the game, and were rewarded with a try to their hardworking lock Sokhana Mkhona. Try was converted by flyhalf Odwa Ndaba to narrow the deficit to 24-19.

From the resulting kickoff they surged forward again into the hosts half until their forwards dropped the ball in attack that was picked by the hosts scrum half who fed a galloping Harris and he scooted length of the field to score under the poles for his second try. Try was converted to increase the hosts lead to 31-19.

The score remained like that until the last quarter when Kruisfontein replacement flyhalf slotted a penalty to extend their lead to 15 points and the scoreline to 34-19.

EL Police scores a consolation try in the dying moments of the game for the final score of 34-24.
